Before submitting your POLISI LAB cohort application (link here), do have a look at this guide to check your eligibility and save time on your application.
Firstly, ensure that you meet our two sole requirements:
That you will be between the ages of 20-35 when you submit your application; POLISI LAB is meant to serve youth/young professionals with upskilling opportunities that they might otherwise lack access to.
That you plan to start/run a new community-oriented initiative or engage a new research interest by using skills taught at POLISI LAB; we ask that all learners join with this intention so that they can convert what they learn into tangible benefits.
There are three parts to the application form.
1) Individual Details: simple standard details.
2) Vocation and Education: tell us about your job and education background.
3) Personal Motivation: scroll down for a detailed guide to the most unique part of the application.
3) Personal Motivation
a) Upload a CV to support your application. It will give us a more extensive understanding about your career and interests. (COMPULSORY)
a) Tell us why you would like to join POLISI LAB (Just write as much as you like!). It doesn't need to be beautifully-written; just be frank! You may refer to our Module List, About Us and FAQ sections on this site to better understand how you could benefit from joining us.
b) Tell us about a potential project or research interest that would see yourself developing after joining POLISI LAB (Again, write as much as you like!). Don't worry about having to be overly articulate, but any details about your area of interest and how you plan to address it will be much appreciated.
c) Tell us whether you plan to take the Policymaker's Course (7 compulsory core modules) or if you would prefer to 'Pick-and-Mix' your modules. Note that only Policymaker's Course students can attend peer mentoring and project/research design group sessions. More clarification on this can be found in the FAQ section.
Submit your application, and you're done!
In return for the effort you put into your application, we will get back to you ASAP on the status of your application.
While we want to extend the POLISI LAB experience to as many youth as possible, we cannot grant places to all applicants due to capacity constraints. Should classes be oversubscribed, we will be especially reliant on your application material to put together a cohort. Rest assured, we promise to be inclusive in putting together a diverse cohort which represents the Malaysian youth population at-large.
Do note that you may attend the first class on 29th June before completing your application.
